Vermont Village · Los Angeles, CA

Embracing Vermont Village through equity,
stability & innovation.

Vermont Village Community Development Corporation is committed to revitalizing the Vermont Corridor — delivering programs that meet immediate needs while building long-term stability, wellness, and opportunity for every resident.

Our Founding Vision

Inspired by Dr. Betty Price

Dr. Betty Price envisioned a community restored to the vibrant, thriving place she remembered as a young girl — a neighborhood filled with opportunity, dignity, and vitality. Her vision began with the Vermont Corridor, between Florence and Manchester.

She imagined decent restaurants, quality grocery stores, accessible medical care, safe recreational spaces — and businesses that truly meet the needs of residents. Her dream: a renewed spirit of hope, prosperity, and safety that would serve as a model for communities across Los Angeles County.

If revitalization began here, on Vermont Avenue, it could serve as a model for other communities across Los Angeles County to follow.
— Dr. Betty Price

Leadership

Message from Our
Executive Director

At VVCDC, our work begins and ends with community. Every program we design, every partnership we build, and every initiative we launch is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: meaningful change happens at the intersection of community voice, strategic partnerships, and sustainable investment.

We work closely with residents, local institutions, public agencies, and private partners to ensure our programs are responsive, culturally relevant, and designed to produce measurable impact.

Our focus is not only on addressing immediate needs, but on strengthening systems that allow families and individuals to thrive over generations. Together, we are shaping a future defined by access, inclusion, and shared prosperity.

Thriving communities are created when residents, organizations, and leaders work together with shared purpose.
— Renee Bizer, Executive Director
